Here is a book I read awhile ago, it is called Measle and the Wrathmonk by Ian Ogilivy. In the book a boy called Measle Stubbs is living with a dreadful man in a horrible house. The dreadful man is his legal guardian, Basil Tramplebone. Measle never dares to go into "his bedroom" because it totally creeps him out. In fact, he only dares to go into three rooms of the house: the attic, the kitchen and the bathroom. The attic is his favorite because it holds a huge model train set. Of course he is never allowed to play with it as it is Basil's but Measle likes it all the same because it is oddly realistic.
One day he finds a way to sneak up and play with it but things don't go as planned...
I like this book because it is strange and interesting. In my opinion the story is very well written. I hope you end up reading it!
