Chasing Vermeer by Blue Baillet

This is a very good book about two kids who are about to turn 12, Petra Andalee and Calder Pillay. Calder uses pentominoes to help him solve mysteries. Like pentominoes, things in this book seem to fit but don't. Calder and Petra soon get mixed up in an art mystery about a stolen Vermeer painting. To figure out who stole the painting and if Calder and Petra are successful in solving the mystery you have to read the book...

Here is my first review:
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle

This was a very interesting book but it was also a little confusing.
The main character is a girl named Meg who has a very smart brother who is named Charles Wallace. He is so smart that he is working at a Fifth Grade level when he is in First Grade. There is another character called Calvin who is on the basketball team at Meg's school.

Calvin, Charles Wallace and Meg meet someone who takes them into the Fifth dimension. Then Charles Wallace gets separated from them.

To find out why they were in the Fifth dimension and how Charles Wallace disappeared (and if he comes back) you need to read the book.
